“We get only one chance to make a good first impression. For a small business, branding is that opportunity. And more often than not, it’s a missed opportunity.”
– Dan Antonelli | President and Chief Creative Officer, KickCharge® Creative.

We often under-estimate the value of good branding, when in fact, it is the cornerstone of a successful business. As Steve Forbes, the Editor in Chief of Forbes magazine says…

Your brand is the single most important investment you can make in your business

I’ve just been reading an article published on Entrepreneur.com about the importance of a strong logo for a new business and it really hits the nail on the head! Check it our here. A must read for anyone not sure whether branding is worth the investment.

So why is a strong brand so important for a new business

Creates trust

Consumers want to buy something from a business that looks legitimate and like they know what they’re doing. Having a strong and professional brand helps you gain new business as it indicates to consumers that have never interacted with your brand that you offer an amazing product or service. Even if your business provides great products/services, if potential new clients don’t see that in your branding they will go to a brand that looks more professional and trustworthy.

Reflects your business values

It is a known fact that consumers buy from businesses that appear to share their values. Creating a brand the reflects your values helps consumers wade through the clutter of awful brands to identify yours. It also aids your brand transparency and according to studies conducted by Label Insight,

94% of consumers say they’re likely to be loyal to a brand that offers complete transparency1

Creates an emotional connection

Helping customers feel emotionally connected to your brand is a great way to grow business, especially if your product or service is slightly more high end. Customer Thermometer states that “Customers who are emotionally-connected are less price-sensitive”2. So the stronger your brand the more willing people are to pay more!

If you are launching a new business, don’t underestimate the incredible importance a brand has in creating trust sharing your business values and establishing an emotional connection.
